Xiao Qing Gan pairs two treasures of the region: small green mandarins from Xinhui, whose peel is dense with aromatic oils, and court-grade ripe pu-erh from Yunnan tucked inside each fruit. As they age together the citrus oils and tea polyphenols settle into one another, giving a cup that is at once fresh and mellow — bright tangerine fragrance floating over a smooth, sweet, aged-tea base.
Rinse one whole tangerine briefly with boiling water, then steep at 100°C in a pot or gaiwan; the first round takes ~20 seconds and the fruit carries many infusions. It also steeps forgivingly in a large mug.
A modern, easygoing classic that turns a busy afternoon into a small ritual.
