Gong Mei is a traditional, characterful Fuding white tea made from pluckings with larger leaves than Silver Needle, giving it a fuller body. After several years of careful aging the character turns mellow and warm, with soft dried-date and lotus-leaf notes over a bright orange-amber liquor that goes down smooth and rounded. Compressed into a cake, it is easy to store and keeps evolving — the classic everyday "aged white tea."
Break off about 5g and use water at 95–100°C; a clay teapot suits it well. Rinse briefly, then steep the first round ~20 seconds. It can also be simmered gently in a kettle for a sweeter, softer pot.
A reliable daily drinker and a friendly first aged-white-tea to collect.
